This project brings together various strange objects found in my house and my grandmother's. Each one is a rather strange object: they all contain an element of disuse or irony. I lay each object on a glass bubble in which I placed the breath and saliva of a story about that object. I wanted language to sustain these objects both literally and metaphorically. It is a collision between words and things.
I am interested in revisiting the genre of magical realism in literature and bringing it into the visual arts. This famous Latin American literary genre depicts how something magical or fantastical enters everyday life without acknowledging its strangeness, as if magic were ordinary. Therefore, each of the short stories I narrated for the items was based on this principle: bringing the impossible into our everyday reality.
