I edited all the moments between words from a 1975 interview Clarice Lispector gave. In a 20-minute conversation, there are 7 minutes of silent air. I was interested in that space between words. She said that her punctuation was her breathing, and here, in her silences, I find fragments of her commas, periods, and dashes. In one of her poems, titled "That's Where I'm Going," she writes: "at the tip of the word is the word." And yes, there is something of the words that remains in their near-pronunciation.ย
