At dawn: a search for chronotopias

This project develops a search for dawn, understanding it not as a moment in time but as a place. The concept of chronotopia describes a place made of time (chrono meaning time and topia meaning space). I believe dawn is a place that can be inhabited, at least for a moment. It is a place that becomes with time but that still holds on to a unique and real spatiality. At dawn the world is different. The plants, animals, climate and even the human condition changes. Dawn gives glimpses of a world that slowly becomes. This project argues that a place cannot be the same during dawn as it is during daytime. I’m confident that dawn is a different place, but it is a place

that only exists in time. The result of this project consists of footage of an old property dating  from the 1900´s in Yautepec Morelos. I have visited this place since I was little and I have seen dawn become a place there. For me, dawn has always been linked to this place, even as a child.
